Vinny Golia Quartet
Reedist Vinny Golia is a legend in the world of creative music, having performed/recorded with Anthony Braxton, John Zorn, Horace Tapscott, Wadada Leo Smith, and dozens of other legendary luminaries. He's been mentioned in dozens of Downbeat Critic Awards polls, and was named by JAZZIZ magazine as one of 100 people who have shaped Jazz in the 21st Century. His compositions for film, dance, theatre and video have been heard around the world, and as an educator, he is the inaugural holder of the Michel Colombier Performer Composer Chair at Cal Arts, where he still teaches.
He makes a rare Vancouver appearance, performing with regular Vancouver colleagues Jared Burrows on guitar and Clyde Reed on bass, and incendiary Seattle-based drummer Greg Campbell.
